Yesterday the New York Workers’ Compensation Board announced that it intends to adopt the use of ICD-10 on October 1, 2015. This is in line with the timetable established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Cervices (CMS). It is not anticipated that CMS will postpone the implementation of ICD-10 as it has done in the past.
Atlantic Imaging Group IPA, LLC (“AIG”) is ready to begin receiving New York workers’ compensation claims that use ICD-10 on October 1, 2015 in order to comply with the Board’s requirements. This applies to all bills for Dates of Service on and after 10/1.
Providers must not submit a combination of ICD-9 and ICD-10 on the same bill.
To Providers who submit bills to AIG through the iHCFA.com clearinghouse: iHCFA is also ready to accept bills and claim documents with ICD-10 codes for submission to carriers and to the Workers’ Compensation Board.
